Austrian Coffee Championships 2023

...  exciting, an emotional rollercoaster and of course a lot of fun!

The GOTA team put on a really strong show. A total of 4 GOTA Coffee members competed in 4 different competitions!

Igor Predic took part in the Latte Art competition for the first time and made such great designs, especially his design at the "Art Bar" was stunning. And it showed - he came in 4th place overall (again, it was his first time competing at all), so we are really looking forward to seeing what he will do at next year's championship.

Michael Mayer took part in the Brewers Cup. His presentation about his coffee took the audience on a trip to a small farm in Costa Rica. His brew was really good and he is getting more and more used to the stage. Michael continues to expand his knowledge of coffee and we are excited to see where it will take him!

Markus Brun wowed the judges with his coffee cocktails in the Coffee in Good Spirits category. As the 2022 Champion, his own expectations were naturally higher than high. After presenting his own written fairy tale, everyone felt like they were in a Disney movie. The hard work paid off and Markus came in second place and returned to GOTA with another trophy!

Dominika Piotrowska, the shining star and the new Barista Queen of 2023! She made it and served the best coffee creations in the Barista category this year. The judges were amazed by her new creations, presentation and of course her unique coffee beans, roasted especially for her at Creat Athens. We are more than proud of her, and it was amazing to see her win this challenging competition. Next year, she will be on the world stage in Busan for the first time in her career and we look forward to watching her create new flavour profiles.
